Hotel Pointe Isabelle
Perfectly located to access the whole of Chamonix, the Hotel Pointe Isabelle is a friendly family-run hotel. Recently refurbished to a high standard, Pointe Isabelle is right in the centre of town, just a minutes walk away from the main train station. Pointe Isabelle has a trendy but timeless feel to it with modern, comfortable furnishings.
Isabella Straton was a British born pioneering mountaineer. She inherited the family fortune in her 20's and discovered a love of mountaineering which led her to climb Mont Blanc 4 times (one of which was the first winter ascent in 1876). Isabella settled in Chamonix and married the local mountain guide, Jean Charlet. The Pointe Isabelle was a tribute to her, opened by her grandchildren, many years later.
Situated a minutes walk from the train station and navette stops, it would be hard to beat either the location or the spectacular views from the hotels balconies. The hotels refurbishment style is described as 'timeless rather than trendy' and has been designed by a well known Swedish design company.
The 45 rooms (40 with balcony) are all bright and spacious with shower, telephone, flat screen TV and free WiFi. Downstairs there is a new bistro style restaurant and bar, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The restaurant will serve a mix of modern classics and old favourites.
