Of course, when on holiday, we all like to have fun so if you are looking for facilities ranging from swimming pools and an 80m slide to tennis and a fitness suite then the Merton is an ideal choice.
The hotel is a 10 minute stroll to the beach and not much longer to St Helier. In addition to the Aquadome and its fantastic flowrider, there is a Kids Zone (see “Doing More”) for children aged 4 yrs to 12 yrs. This is available from mid May throughout the summer.
When it is time for sustenance the Merton Hotel has a range of restaurants and bars which can cater for every age, taste and appetite: The Belvedere Restaurant is the hotel’s main restaurant where you can enjoy breakfast and a carvery buffet dinner. Breakfast can be just fresh pastries and croissants or, with all the activities you have planned for the day, why not indulge in a full English breakfast. It’s all included in the price!
In the evening there is a three-course buffet dinner served with a choice of dishes, including a healthy selection for children.
The hotel will also provide an early dining facility for children and families. Adjacent to The Belvedere there is a supervised crèche for small children which is available each evening during the summer months, to allow parents to relax and enjoy their meal.
Bonetti’s restaurant is open daily and offers a brasserie-style menu with a wide choice of dishes. Usually you will also find special dishes on offer, including their famous lobster salad (seasonal). You can enjoy an evening meal in the light and airy atrium setting. Or during the summer you can sit on the terrace, soak up the sun and enjoy the view of the Merton’s gardens.
Jersey Joe’s Diner is a popular spot! Full of gleaming chrome, bar stools and TV screens, it is a celebration of 1950’s America with perhaps the most striking feature being the front end of a pink Cadillac situated over the entrance - with ice cream sundaes being sold, Jersey Joe’s is great for a family treat.
Located poolside in the Merton’s Aquadome, Cascades Café Barprovides drinks, snacks and light meals throughout the day – ideal if you have no desire to be far from your sun lounger.
Located above the Boulevard Lounge and with a sports theme, The Commentary Box is an ideal place for a pre-dinner or late night drink or to catch the screening of any of the big sporting events. You can also enjoy a frame of pool or a game of chess in this bar.
Prices are based on B&B with half board available for a supplement.
