Monetier Les Bains is the final village that forms the Serre Chevalier Vallee ski area. It is known for its spa and hot baths which are heated by geothermal springs. It is a beautiful little village, and is still very traditionally French. There are some fantastic restaurants to be found also within the village, one of these is Michellin rated – Auberge du Chocas, located within the hotel.

However, over the last two winters a ski shop called Wiiski noticed an opportunity to develop its shop by offering coffee and tea to customers while your skis are serviced.

Last winter they sought to develop this further by seeking a license to serve alcohol as well.

It has now turned into the perfect place to relax after a day on the slopes. They have a simple snack menu which includes your own personal fondue for one or for four if you are in the sharing mood.

It has a fantastic atmosphere in there, with super friendly staff. It really is a must visit place after a day on the mountain.

They also serve probably the best vin chaud that I have tasted in the valley.

It has to be said that you need to finish your day in here because a fondue for lunch can really impact your ability and motivation to ski or board.

They also hosted a number of concerts for the Altitude Jazz festival comes to town. So for a different kind of après, get your skis serviced and eat lots of cheese with vin chaud. Monetier is definitely a place to explore on your visit to Serre Chevalier. The ski area at this end of the valley does service some of the best skiing in resort and also lots of activities to get your teeth into when you finish your day on the hill.

We have a number of properties available across the valley.

Chalet Les Clarines is the pinnacle of these and a stones throw away from the baths and Wiiski.
