This cycle tour from Passau to Vienna in Austria is perfect for all enthusiasts of fresh, clean air and tasty homemade specialities.

Enjoy typically Austrian farms and experience the natural environment up close and personal. During your nightly stops on local farms your hosts will take care of you - you will dine on fresh homemade bread and various scrumptious goodies from the region and will enjoy a delicious breakfast and a healthy start to each day’s cycling.

You can fly to Munich, Linz or Vienna - we can arrange airport transfer from Munich or Linz and train transfers from Vienna.


  • Day 1: Passau

    Individual arrival. Use the remaining time for a city tour or go for a walk through the picturesque old part of the “City of Three Rivers”.

    Between 4 pm and 7 pm you can collect your bikes – for late arrivals in the next morning.

    For getting to Passau - we can advise on transfers from Munich (taxi transfer) or from Vienna (train transfer) or Linz (train transfer).

  • Day 2: Passau – Eferdinger Becken

    Approx. 54 km + ship ride Passau - Kasten

    Starting in Passau you cycle along the Danube as it flows through the densely forested slopes of the narrow valley in the ‘Bavarian Forest’ until it reaches the gorgeous Danube Loop in Schlögen.

    Here we can suggest a walk up to the famous “Schlögener Blick“ from where you have a fantastic view over this fascinating region.

    Back on the bike and you will continue to Aschach/Feldkirchen.

  • Day 3: Eferdinger Becken – Mitterkirchen/surroundings

    Approx. 53 km + train ride Linz - Enns

    Today’s bike-leg guides you to the Upper-Austrian capital city of Linz, featured with its cultural and numerous attractions.

    After a brief walking tour of the charming old-town square, you will head for the train station.

    There you will catch a train to the town of Enns (the oldest town in Austria).

    On the way, you can appreciate many impressive farms and buildings such as square-yarded farmhouses which are typical for this region

  • Day 4: Mitterkirchen/surroundings – Strudengau

    Approx. 45 km

    Today you will cycle through an extremely fascinating landscape.

    In this region the narrow passages of the Danube (seen as a vortex or a whirling mass of water) have been frightening captains and sailors since ancient times.

    Grein, the quaint little romantic town with its castle and the oldest theatre in Austria, is certainly worth a visit.

  • Day 5: Strudengau – Wachau

    Approx. 40 km

    This day you will reach the Wachau region.

    A very old winegrowing culture awaits you here. The terraced vineyards grown on the steep southern slopes of “Heaven’s Stairs” along the Danube, make this region unique in its landscape and beauty.

    Don’t miss a wine tasting at one of the numerous wine-taverns where you can sample the mouth-watering wines of this region.

    Once at the ruins of Aggstein, you can enjoy a wonderful view over the jewels of the Wachau (Spitz, Weissenkirchen and of course the famous Dürnstein).

  • Day 6: Wachau – Krems/surroundings, approx. 49 km

    Approx. 49 km

    Today you pass through the vineyards of the world famous Dürnstein. A short but steep walk up to the ruins gives you an enchanting view over the Wachau region.

    From here you only have a short distance to ride until you reach the city of Krems and your accommodation at a typical vineyard in this region.

  • Day 7: Krems/surroundings – Vienna

    Approx. 39 km + train ride Krems - Tulln

    By train you will depart from this unique UNESCO World Cultural Heritage region.

    After arriving in Tulln on the Danube, you will ride your bike for the last time on this tour through the Vienna Woods (Wiener Wald) and pass through ‘The Gates of Vienna’.

    Along the way you will see the Monastery of Klosterneuburg and then continue on to the city of music: Vienna.

  • Day 8: Vienna

    What a wonderful city - that is Vienna.....and Ultravox were wrong, this city does mean something!

    A few of the must-sees include the famous “Naschmarkt”, the City Opera, St. Stephan’s Cathedral and of course the delightful imperial castle Schönbrunn.
