What we like

  • There is a network of 400 kilometre long, marked hiking paths
  • Thanks to the ubiquitous "Steinberge and Grasberge mountains,” Leogang, with its high alpine meadows, gorges, caves and trenches, presents an almost unsurpassable variety of challenges for mountaineers.
  • Over 720 km of mountain biking trails and 480 km cycle tracks in the valley offer holidaymakers a biking experience in the heart of nature, with a wide range of ability levels available.
  • With 18 different running routes spanning a total of more than 120 kilometers as well as two panorama trails and one mountain running route, nothing comes between you and nature. You’ll discover more variety here than just about anywhere else. From five starting points in Saalfelden, you can explore the small-town atmosphere and gentle hills surrounding Lake Ritzensee or head up to a tranquil forest zone with a hermitage at the foot of the Steinernes Meer mountain range.
  • In the holiday region of Saalfelden Leogang three are three outdoor swimming pools that are open between May to September, weather permitting, and which are included in the LöwenAlpinCard.

Getting there

  • Saalfelden is conveniently located near the Salzburg, Innsbruck, and Munich airports.
  • Travelling by train you can enjoy your holiday right from the start. No traffic jams to keep you from getting to Saalfelden Leogang and you can easily plan an excursion in the region by train. Just use the ÖBB timetable to quickly and easily find the best train connection.

Top 5 things to do

  • There is plenty of fun and excitement to be had on the 400m summer sound toboggan run Leo Klang right next to the top station of the Asitz lift.  At 1800m above sea level you zip down through the beautiful Pinzgau scenery with wonderful views of the Steinernes Meer mountains above Saalfelden, and the Leoganger Steinberge mountains.
  •  A high ropes course, three via ferratas of different levels of difficulty and the 120 climbing routes in the Leogang Steinberge mountains can be "tackled" between Kuchelhorn, Kaserwand and Fahnenköpfl.
  • The biking region Saalfelden Leogang and the Bikepark Leogang had the honour of being the venue fort he UCI Mountain Bike & Trials World Championships.
  • In Saalfelden Leogang golfers will find a special surprise: golf at its highest level.
  • More than 40 attractions await you at the amusement park Family Land. Whether big or small there is enough variety to keep any visitor from being bored.
