Skiing in Stubai

There are various villages along the Stubai Valley starting with Schoenberg and finishing at the foot of the Stubai Glacier ski lift at the village of Mutterberg. The first village in the valley is Schoenberg and you can travel up the valley towards Mutterberg from where you can access the glacier. There are various different ski areas but the main two are the glacier skiing and Schlick 2000 above the village of Fulpmes.

There are regular ski buses which run along the valley floor and are free with the lift passes. Tobogganing is a big sport here with 10 toboggan runs totaling 67km (3 of which are 8km long).  Four of the runs are illuminated and there are various alpine huts where you can stop off for a drink on your way back down.

Getting there: the closest airport is Innsbruck but flights come in from December to April - for the autumn and from mid-April, Munich is the option with the best connections
