  • Itinerary & prices - see below
  • Getting here - transfers included from Zadar airport

  • Day 1 - Arrival into Zadar

Individual arrival into Zadar for check in.

Free time for a night out in Zadar.

  • Day 2 - Novigrad Bay sea kayaking

Today will start with some sea kayaking instruction on the beach just in front of the hotel before you take a trip to the Zrmanja River canyon.

The water here is a mix of fresh and saltwater (brackish) which is why there is an abundance of life under the surface.  The eel which dwells in these waters is a favourite gourmet specialty amongst the locals but you are more likely to spot turtles, fish and birds along the way.

After kayaking upstream on these calm waters you can enjoy some swimming and jumping off cliffs.  There is a chance to picnic on the shores where the river meets the sea.

Heading back to Novigrad you will be able to enjoy the great views of the Maslenica red bridge.

  • Day 3 - Paklenica National park hiking

Today a small expedition will lead you up into Paklenica National Park which is the most famous hiking and rock climbing area in Croatia.

The two rivers which carve out these distinctive canyons are a focal point for today's experience.

This relatively small area has an abundance of flora and fauna and a diverse landscape which is truly breathtaking.

The residents who lived here had to adapt to the geographic and climatic environment and in so doing engaged in nomad stock herding from their mountain shepherd residences.  The fact that many people stayed in these mountain dwellings is reflected in the ruins of numerous sacral buildings - churches, chapels and altars.

  • Day 4 - Visit to Plitvice Lakes National Park (UNESCO site)

Plitvice Lakes National Park is famous for its exquisite series of 16 emerald green and blue lakes which between them house more than 90 waterfalls and numerous caves making this a truly worthy UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The lakes are also surrounded by extensive beech and pine forests which are home to a large number of different wildlife.

  • Day 5 - Cycling in Krka National Park

There is hardly a better way to get around the area of Krka National Park than cycling.  This cycling route will lead you through Croatian history whilst enjoying the wonderful forests, hills, monuments and bird reserves the Park has to offer.

Your first destination is the famous 44 metre high Skradinski Buk Waterfall. The fantastic karst formations and travertine waterfalls make it a beautiful swimming area.

After a short sightseeing tour you will cycle to the shores of Visovac Lake where you can take an optional boat trip to the Visovac Island and Franciscan monastery.

You can return on the boat to continue your bike tour and a short swimming break on the beautiful beach on the upper part of the National Park.  Your ride will finish with a magnificent downhill descent with fabulous scenic views over the Prokljan Lake and town of Skradin.

  • Day 6 - Rock climbing in Paklenica National Park

Paklenica is the most famous climbing site in Croatia and one of the "must see" climbing areas in Europe. Choose one of many excellent routes.

  • Day 7 - Zrmanja River rafting

The Zrmanja and Krupa Rivers are among the most beautiful rivers in Europe and with their warm waters, spectacular canyons and magnificent waterfalls, provide a wonderful backdrop to this activity.

The rivers are easy and safe enough for beginner rafters and you will experience many fish and birds along your way.

The trip begins in KaštelŽegarski, only one hour drive from Zadar. You will quickly learn how to handle sit-on-top kayaks as you slowly enter the canyon. After the first hour of paddling down easy rapids you will – if time and weather permit – visit beautiful Kupa waterfalls and swim under them.

More waterfalls and rapids wait for you as you continue down Zrmanja to Muskovci where the trip ends. At the end of the trip optionally you can enjoy refreshments at a nearby restaurant or take a picnic of your own.
