This 7 night/ 8 day multi-sport adventure holiday is all about the Istria region of Croatia and the highlight of the Plitvice Lakes National Parks. The three main activities included in this tour are sea kayaking, cycling and hiking.

The tour starts in Porec - a charming coastal town and well worth a visit with its wealth of fantastic historical sites.

The tour ends in the Plitvice Lakes National Park - a stunning region with spectacular forests, green valleys, sparkling rivers and a rich histoory

  • Day 1 - Arrival in Porec

    Porec, one of Istria's most renowned tourist destinations, manages to balance the authentic charm of a small coastal town filled with magnificent historical sites, with the perks and exciting features modern and active travellers expect. Porec is not far from the airports / harbours of Pula, Rijeka and Trieste

    If you can only get to Venice, it is possible to take a ferry across - get in touch if we can advise on timings.

    Depending on when you arrive, you will be able to choose and test your bicycle on a short tour through the old town.

    Before the end of the day there will be welcome drinks, dinner and a brief orientation where the forthcoming itinerary will be discussed and there will be a chance to get to know your guides and fellow travellers.

  • Day 2 - Sea Kayaking Rovinj Islands

    The old town of Rovinj is a masterpiece in urban art and architecture but its surroundings, the Rovinj Archipelago Islands, are a masterpiece of nature.

    The best way to explore and enjoy them is in a kayak. Kayaks will take you to the old town harbour, the Sv. Katarina Island, the Golden Cape, the Red Island and the hidden beaches - all of those an easy half day round trip.

    There will also be plenty of time to enjoy a walk in the old narrow streets of Rovinj, have a coffee, an ice-cream or even a glass of wine.

  • Day 3 - Oprtalk - Groznjan - Motovun, cycling

    The Istrian Peninsula is well known for its coast but the real treasures are inland. Don't miss out on typical Istrian towns built on top of hills, vineyards, fields and forests which are very pleasant for touring on a bike.

    This cycling tour includes Oprtalj and Groznjan, charming hillside towns where you will have time for a short walk and exploring. You will get the chance to cycle the Parenzana - an old rail road nowadays known as a mecca for cyclists.

    Slowly travelling down to Mirna Valley where you will enjoy magnificent views of the countryside.

    Today's trip ends with lunch on a family farm offering local made Istrian specialities. There is also an option to enjoy an afternoon coffee and walk along the walls of the picturesque hillside town of Motovun.

  • Day 4 - Sea kayaking Porec Islands

    Porec, one of Istria’s most renowned tourist destinations, manages to balance the authentic charm of a small coastal town filled with magnificent historical sites, with the perks and exciting features modern and active travelers expect.

    Spread across 37 km of stunning coastline, Porec Riviera is ideal for sea kayaking which will show you Porec in another light and give you the chance to explore it from a different perspective.

    This round trip is ideal for those who want to explore Istria in an exciting and adventurous way, but also for families with children and groups who want to enjoy in an active day and beautiful scenery. In the afternoon we will drive to the beautiful old town Motovun.

  • Day 5 - Optional day - Istrian wine safari/Ucka, hiking and walking/Mirna river, canoe/ relaxing in Motovun

    Explore the best Istrian wineries tasting the best local wines and traditional Istrian gourmet cuisine. Today you can spend a day driving through the breathtaking hills of Istria.

    You will visit Ucka, Istria's highest mountain and it's highest peak Vojak which offers panoramic views of Croatia's northern coast and islands. You can also take a canoe tour from the old town of Motovun and follow the Mirna River all the way to the Adriatic Sea.

  • Day 6 - Draguc - Sovinjak - Motovun, cycling

    Today you will explore inner Istria, starting your journey at Draguc. Located on the top of a hill, this village will immediately capture your heart with its ancient history and friendly local people.

    Many films have been filmed here and is often referred to as the Istrian Hollywood. Moving on to Sovinjak, another charming Istrian village with a very picturesque view of the Mirna Valley.

  • Day 7 - Plitvice Lakes National Park, hiking

    Today you will visit the most beautiful and stunning National Park in Croatia - possible only by hiking around it's 16 lakes, numerous waterfalls fed by both the Black and White Rivers and seemingly endless forests.

    Your walking trip starts along wooden paths and bridges in and around Plitvice Lakes. It's exquisite series of 16 emerald green and opal blue travertine lakes, more than 90 waterfalls and numerous caves make it a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

    The lakes are surrounded by beech and pine forests and are home to extensive wildlife. You will enjoy a picnic lunch and a panoramic boat and train ride.

    End of the tour and individual departure home.

    Accommodation is provided in three star family apartments in Porec just a few minutes walking distance from the centre of the Old Town.

    You will also be lodging in a three star small hotel villa in Motovun on the top of the hill with breathtaking views of the Istrian countryside example accommodation at Villa Borgo 

    There is also one night at the Hotel Gacka in Otocac next to the beautiful River Gacka and close to one of the most beautiful National parks in Croatia - Plitvice Lakes National Park.
