Skiing in La Molina
At an altitude of 1700 m, La Molina is a perfectly situated resort within the Pyrenees and is surrounded by mountains of more than 2500 metres. It is the nearest ski resort to the city of Catalunya and is therefore very accessible by car, bus or train.
Recent expansions within the resort itself have been designed to respect the environment and as a result the resort has been awarded the ISO 14001 for the Natural Environment.
Skiing & Boarding in La Molina
La Molina is part of the Alp 2500 ski domain together with Masella with a combined skiing area of 121km. In La Molina there are 16 lifts and 46 pistes with a combined skiing area of 53km.
For beginners there are 13 green runs. Probably the best known is the Pista Llarga where you can find ski equipment hire shops and nine ski schools within walking distance from the slopes. For the more competent skier there are 24 red and black runs in La Molina. There are a selection of wide slopes that will give the more experienced skier a good run as well as other slopes hidden in the woods where fewer people dare to venture.
The Masella resort and La Molina make up the Dues Estacions facility - 135km for skiing non-stop all day long. The resorts are joined by the Alp 2500 La Molina cable car making them into one of the largest ski areas in the Pyrenees.

La Molina offers a range of activities to fit in alongside your skiing - these include
- Dog sled - there is a prepared circuit which is great for the family
- Snowbikes - enjoy a ride through the mountains, at Alp 2500 - these can be rented in resort
- Other suggestions include the pool (at Puigcerda), Hot-air balloon rides and bowling
If you have a non-skier(s) in the group, they can easily take a trip into the delightful town of Puigcerda. Some activities include horse riding, skating rink and the heated swimming pool.
