Multi activity in the Azores
Known amongst the locals as the Ile du Soleil, it’s obvious what attracts skiers and boarders to the resorts of the Southern Alps. An excellent snow record and many sunny days make for a very pleasant mountain experience (the French weather bureau has recorded an average of 300 days of sunshine per year in Alpe D’Huez).
The Alpe D’Huez Grand Domaine Ski slopes include 2 snow parks (one for beginners and one for experts), 2 beginner areas, 2 ski slopes approved by the International Ski federation for international ski competitions, an ice cave, 50km of cross country trails and 35km of hiking trails. There is night skiing twice a week on the Signal slope (included in a 6 day liftpass) and there is the opportunity to ski your first 8000m – 4 runs each with a vertical drop of 2000m

Whale Watching and swimming with Dolphins
The Azores is one of the best places in the world for whale watching – around the archipelago, approximately 25 different resident and migratory species can be seen – from the sperm whale to the blue whale and fin whale – as well as several species of sharks, turtles and dolphins, the Azores is a feast for the eyes that appreciate these marine animals

Geotourism on the Azores
The volcanic beginings of the Azores, the small size of the islands and the short distance between some of them make it easy to explore the regions geodiversity, landscapes and geosites all year
We can add a geo day to your trip where you will see the effects of recent eruptions – the volcanic origins of the islands have created mountains and valleys covered in rich and varied vegetation, lakes in ancient volcano craters, hot water springs, fumaroles, thermal hot water fountains and cascades – the tour also includes a guided visit to caves made up of lava chambers.
